What is Steampunk?
Hello, I am Lita Burke, a fantasy and Clockpunk author. The popular Steampunk genre takes place in the late 1800s where electricity never evolved beyond a curiosity in a circus act. Mechanical gizmos are powered by steam in a gritty dystopia where the fashion is corsets, top hats, and tailcoats. Steampunk’s most popular visual icon is welder goggles.

What is Clockpunk?
Clockpunk is the gentler cousin of Steampunk. These stories are set much earlier in the 1600s, where renaissance thinking is in full bloom. The technology is Leonardo da Vinci, and mechanisms are powered by clockworks instead of steam. Clockpunk’s most popular visual icon is the mechanical man.

What is Clockpunk Wizard?
The Clockpunk Wizard world is my own creation. It mixes Clockpunk with the traditional fantasy elements of spell-casting magic, fairies, and dragons. They live in plate-shaped ocean world where islands float above the sea. Our hero is Kadmeion, a young wizard recently graduated from the university. He runs a wizard-for-hire business from his airship.

What Happens in Old Bony Blue Eyes?
In my Clockpunk Wizard story Old Bony Blue Eyes, a dragon named Lady Betrayal commissions Kadmeion to fetch the book Dragonlore. Getting onto Old Bony’s island is easy. The problem is returning alive. Wizards have two options: winning a game of dice against Death, or fighting their way off the island using magic. Even with Luck and War helping, Kadmeion might not succeed. Old Bony’s blue eyes might be the last thing our wizard ever sees.
