My Octoprint setup in 2025!
Overview: Octoprint, OctoEverywhere, Smart Plugs for Remote Control of 3D printer (and a mistake you should avoid!)

Details (stuff I might've missed in the video)
Octoprint: setup is pretty easy, I'm using a Raspberry Pi 3B (an older model). Following a guide on the internet is helpful. Just know that you'll have to download some Imagers. Octoprint initially connects with your local network, so you can only use it in that network. OctoEverywhere allows from remote control. Though if security is a major priority, then I'd pass on OctoEverywhere (I'm not qualified to inform you on your own decisions, though). But OctoEverywhere is quite handy for remote access, so I'd definitely recommend (alternative: Obico).
I also implemented smart plugs to control the lights (and turn the printer on and off via cutting the power source). WARNING: be sure to use a known-to-work plug, the Tapo plugs (from TP-Link) were "closed", so they weren't accessible through Octoprint.
The smart plugs enable me to turn on and off the printers when not in use (so it doesn't have to stay on the whole time).
Remember that the Raspberry PI will stay on the whole time allowing me to control the Printer, Lights, and the Smart Plug.
