Tim Duncan wasn't aware that he is in a You Laugh, You Lose Challenge initiated by Joey Crawford. He was ejected because he was laughing his ass off on dubious calls. Maybe this is why Timmy never showed any emotion again.
The Spurs eventually lost this game to the Mavs and lost the chance to get the number 2 spot in the Western Conference playoffs. Joey Crawford was suspended because of this while Tim Duncan was unfairly fined 25k dollars by the NBA.
