Full-Arch Intraoral Scanning F-Tx Prosthesis & Abutment Workflows

Making final impressions for the Zest Dental Solutions LOCATOR F-Tx Fixed Attachment System using intraoral scanning is a revolutionary new workflow that makes for full-arch implant dentistry simple! This video demonstrates the intraoral scanning technique using 3Shape TRIOS and 3D printed models with a Formlabs 3D printer.

The technique is performed with the following step-by-step guide:
1. The patient has been wearing an interim F-Tx prosthesis for a period of time to allow for testing of vertical dimension, centric/MICP bite comfort, esthetics, speech/phonetics, and stability of the prosthesis. The patient approves of the interim prosthesis.
2. The patient returns for final impressions. Two cases are created in the intraoral scanner: 1) Edentulous ridge with F-Tx housings in place [1 scan total performed]; 2) Interim F-Tx prosthesis and opposing dentition in occlusion [3 scans performed: opposing dentition, interim prosthesis fully seated, bite scan]
2. The interim prosthesis is removed and F-Tx housings with black processing balls are placed. The housings are angled according to desired angulation in final prosthesis. Cheek retractors are placed.
3. The edentulous arch is fully captured with the intraoral scanner ensuring sufficient soft tissues buccal/lingual to housings.
4. The housings are removed from the mouth and will be used later for delivery of the final prosthesis. The interim prosthesis is seated with new retention balls.
5. The interim prosthesis is fully captured with the intral scanner ensuring sufficient soft tissues buccal/lingual to prosthesis. The opposing arch is fully captured with the intraoral scanner. The bite scan is completed.
6. The patient is dismissed. The scans are uploaded to your laboratory or exported as STL files.
