Rehackling flax

In this video I show you how I rehackle flax that has been stored for a long time. These stricks of flax have been stored since probably the 1940's, but any flax that I don't spin directly after the original hackling I rehackle. Like any other fiber preparation, hackling is fresh produce. The separation of fibers will sink back together with time and make the spinning more challenging. The fresher the preparation the better possibilities I have to spin a high quality yarn.
