Lazy Susan’s: I prefer Acacia, though Bamboo is ok just not as sturdy. I buy them on Faire wholesale from Totally Bamboo or Lipper International. You have to sign up as a wholesaler on Faire to get those deals. If you just want a few – try Home Goods or Amazon. I’m particular about the hardware and the finish on the lazy susan – I prefer the 4-point two part metal hardware vs. a single screw/ball bearing type. Custom Sizes: I get my MDF cut locally by a professional who has a laser cutter and use 1” MDF wood. You can find 24” table tops at Home Depot but you will need to also get the bottom base circle, cut your holes, install hardware, etc. Note: on very large (26” and up) lazy susans I will use industrial hardware that is very large and does NOT spin fast. I COULD cut my own – but I choose not to! Cutting a perfect wood circle is not my best skill.

WARPING – something I did not mention in the video but several have asked about warping. You have to support the entire painted circle of the lazy susan while it’s drying. Don’t just put it on a spinner or a cup and leave it all hanging out without support. I use solo cups filled with resin (leftovers) to support all the way around the top circle of the lazy susan. This helps prevent warping. This may be a future video – if enough people are interested in this!
