“Mad Max” gets a new starter
other years of Maxima for the 3.0L and 3.5L v6 are similar in how to replace the Starter. Along with many others.
Few days after I had replaced O2 sensor (B2S2) the car just wouldn’t start. I gave the starter solenoid a few taps with my pry bar and then car started. This indicated to me that the starter solenoid was going.
Since I have a lifetime warranty on the starter . The part will be free to me. I decided to just replace the starter. The install took me about 2 hours. Tight quarters space for the starter.
Quotes from yourmechanic.com. To replace this starter run about $322 on this car.
Tools used
socket set 3/8 and 1/4 drive
Socket extensions
Metric wrenches
Breaker bar
Screw driver
Angle needle nose pliers
Flashlight/drop light/head lamp
starter had warrantee on it so I got it from local auto parts store rather than from online store ebay or RockAuto
