Van Tour VW T5.1 Hightop (Alternative Layout) 2025

After a very long time, we are very excited to show you our van tour of our self built Hightop VW T5 campervan, with us on screen! We talk through the lay out of the van we built ourselves with no experience at doing this. We have done 98% of the work on the van ourselves.
We created the wooden furniture ourselves from scratch using 8 foot by 4 foot plywood boards.
We purchased the van, an ex-hire van for a builders merchant in the UK, three weeks before the first Covid lockdown in 2020. As we don't have a garage or workshop, we set about converting the van on our front drive at the mercy of the English weather. This included cutting in 3 windows and a roof vent among many other tasks.
We do not live in the van full time, however we do try to go away in it as much as possible and 2025 sees us currently registered for 5 vanlife /campervan festivals, we are also due to attend a campervan festival in Spain.
If we were to do a van tour that covered everything we have done and everything we would like to focus on, the video would last well over an hour. We are not videographers, and our editing skills are still developing, yes there are some minor editing issues! Apologies if our fingers get in to some of the shots. The day we filmed this was very windy and very muddy, but we pressed ahead anyway but it did mean we had to keep doors closed due to wind noise.
