I interviewed Christian Bale in 2002 for the premiere of the movie Laurel Canyon The reason I ask him about the band ASIA is because I had a running joke at the time that a movie should be made about John Wetton (King Crimson, Roxy Music/Bryan Ferry, Uriah Heep, UK)His biggest commercial success was as the frontman and principal songwriter of the supergroup Asia. Their self-titled debut album sold 8 million copies worldwide and was Billboard magazine's #1 album of 1982. I had recently ,at the time interviewed Cameron Crowe , an American screenwriter and film director., Crowe was also a contributing editor at Rolling Stone magazine. I asked Cameron Crowe " What would you think about making a movie about John Wetton " He said it would be a great idea !" I wanted Christian Bale to play the young John Wetton and Jeff Bridges to play the older John Wetton ,So thats why the queston was asked lol
