How Good Was Gary Lineker, Really?

No one would blame you if you thought that punditry was Gary Lineker's one true calling.

Despite his clear and obvious talent in front of the camera, there was once a time where Linker was regarded as the best striker in the world.

And whether you like him as a media personality or not, there is no denying how significant of an impact he had on British football.

He is, to this day, the only player to have won the golden boot with three different clubs in England. And, he never received a yellow or red card throughout his entire career.

In addition to this, he was one of the first British players to truly succeed abroad. In a way, he arguably paved the way for players such as David Beckham and Gareth Bale to succeed outside of the United Kingdom.

But perhaps, his playing days were before your time, and maybe you weren't around to witness Gary Lineker in his prime.

Admittedly, neither was I.

To be fair, the peak of his playing career was during a time that predates the English Premier League itself.

But with the power of the internet and little bit of research, none of that really matters, nowadays.

So that brings us to the question of the day; just how good was Gary Lineker, really?
