This is part of a new series of videos im going to do that are just quick "to the point" blog videos.
This video is about the Beamswork Green Element Evo36 LED Aquarium Light, its a larger version of the 12" Clip on light from Beamswork i reviewed a little while back

The build quality of the Beamswork lights are fantastic, matt black aluminium case, solid plastic end caps and installed mounting brackets.
18 x 10000k White LEDs
6 x Blue Actinic 640nm
These lights are perfectly suitable for cichlid and other freshwater tanks, they will help plants to grow but because the blue is too strong they are not very appealing to the eye.
Surface water movement causes LED shimmer but the blue LEDs overpower the green plants.
They do however make these for planted tanks, the planted tank versions contain 24 White LEDs which are 6500k each. These would be much more suited to planted tanks visually.
Prices for these lights are around the £230 mark
They are worth the money if you wanted the light for cichlid and general freshwater tanks but i would make sure to order the other version if you wanted the light for freshwater
I will try to get one of the lights designed for planted tanks so you can see the difference
