All 16ohm speakers
All used in the same cab (Mesa 2x12)
Same mic position set (exactly 2 inches from cap edge)
No volume adjustments, no amp setting changes, no post eq, nothing, just purely exactly as it came out
James Tyler Variax 59 used, stock
Mesa Boogie Roadster Channel 4 Modern, Presence 12, Bass 9, Mids 9, Treble 12, Gain 1.
No boost, guitar straight into the amp.
This clip obviously isn't about how good I recorded the tone, it is purely to show the difference in tone of these speakers, NOT my skill, talent etc.
Obviously you may do tricks to make speakers sound better in different ways, but this to me still seems like a solid starting point for people looking to understand the basics.
They all sound awesome in their own way I think.
