동해안 별신굿 中 ‘드렁갱이’ ㅣ 꽹과리 & 장구 악보 Ver. ㅣ Korea's East Coast Shamanistic Ritual Musicㅣ

동해안 별신굿은 강원도에서 부산까지 한반도의 동해안 지방에서 내려오는 세습굿이다. 이 굿은 타악기 위주로 음악을 연주하는데 그로인해 장단이 주로 발전이 되어 다른 지역에 없는, 동해안 별신굿만의 특수한 박자구조의 장단이 존재한다. 그 중 ‘드렁갱이’는 다양한 박자구조로 구성된 장단으로, 동해안 별신굿 장단 중에서도 가장 대표적이고 백미라고 할 수 있다.

동해안 별신굿 장단은 한국의 장단 중에서도 박자구조가 가장 난해하고 복잡하며 테크닉적인 장단이라고 해도 과언이 아니다. 특히 장구와 꽹과리가 혼합박 구조의 장단을 자유롭게 넘나들며 리듬진행하는 폴리리듬으로, 가락을 더욱 난해하면서도 화려하게 즉흥연주 하는 것이 특징이다. 이것이 동해안 별신굿 장단의 예술성을 드높이는 요소 중 하나이다.
따라서 연주하는 가락을 정확하게 파악하기가 쉽지 않아 학습하는데 어려움이 있다.
이 악보는 연구목적으로 동해안별신굿 명인의 가락을 채보하였고, 정간에 기호를 넣은 정간보보다 장단의 테크닉적인 타법을 정확하고 세밀하게 표기하기 위해 음표로 채보하였다.

동해안 별신굿 장단을 학습하고 연구하는 모두에게 도움이 되어, 동해안 별신굿이 더욱 더 발전 되기를 희망한다.




Korea's East Coast Shamanistic Ritual, "Donghaean Byeolsingut" is a ritual practice of hereditary shamans on the east coast of the Korean Peninsula from Gangwon to Busan. Its music is mainly performed on the basis of percussion instruments, whereby highly sophisticated structures of rhythm that cannot be found in other regions of Korea have been developed. Among the various types of its rhythms, "deureonggaengi" composed of various time signatures could be considered the quintessence of Donghaean Byeolsingut rhythms.

It is no exaggeration to say that Donghaean Byeolsingut’s rhythm is the most difficult, complex, and technical among all Korean rhythms. In particular, it uses polyrhythms in which percussions such as janggu and kwaenggwari freely move between different types of beats. This complexity is one of the factors that enhance the artistry of the Donghaean Byeolsingut rhythm. But at the same time, its complexity makes it difficult to accurately grasp the rhythm to be played and it also affects learning and transmission.
For research purposes, I transcribed the rhythms of the masters of Donghaean Byeolsingut by time signature notes, instead of the Korean traditional notation system of jeongganbo, to more accurately and precisely indicate the details of playing techniques.
