he 1989 Kawasaki ZX-10 (also known as the Tomcat) had a top speed of approximately 269 km/h (167 mph) and an official horsepower rating of 137 hp (101 kW), making it one of the fastest production motorcycles of its time. This performance was a result of its 997cc liquid-cooled, 16-valve DOHC inline-four engine and an all-aluminum frame, which made it lighter and more powerful than its predecessor, the GPZ 900R.
