"OverByte" is my very first fan-made track inspired by the original Friday Night Funkin' game. I chose to base it around the UberKids, since WeekEnd 2 will most likely focus on Cassandra, so I thought it’d be cool to give some attention to these underrated characters! I put a lot of effort into this one, and I think it turned out pretty well, especially now that I've improved my mixing and sound design. Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it!

Friday Night Funkin' is a popular rhythm-based indie game that gained significant attention and a dedicated fan base. It revolves around the story of a character named Boyfriend, who must prove his musical prowess by participating in rap battles against various opponents to win the heart of his Girlfriend. The game features catchy original songs and unique, colorful art style reminiscent of classic handheld games. Players must hit the corresponding arrow keys at the right time to match the rhythm of the music and progress through the levels. Friday Night Funkin' combines elements of music, rhythm, and storytelling, creating an engaging and addictive gameplay experience for players of all ages. The UberKids are characters originally from Pico’s School (1999), a classic Flash game created by Tom Fulp, the founder of Newgrounds. They’re part of a violent student gang that attacks the school, leading Pico, the main character, to fight back in a chaotic and darkly comedic shootout. While the UberKids haven’t appeared in the official Friday Night Funkin’ game (yet), they’re part of the same Newgrounds universe and are frequently featured in fan-made content. They're iconic for their edgy, aggressive vibe and deep roots in Newgrounds history.
