Le Col de la Moutière – 2444 m – est un col totalement méconnu. Il ne fait même pas partie du Top 10 des plus hauts cols routiers des Alpes françaises car c’est un col goudronné uniquement sur le versant Sud. Proche voisin de la prestigieuse montée de la Cime de la Bonette, il propose décor sauvage et une des plus belles ascensions des Alpes. Au col se trouve une borne posée en 1823 , qui jusqu'en 1861 marquait la frontière entre la France et la Savoie, qui appartenait au Royaume de Sardaigne-Piémont .
The Col de la Moutière – 2444 m – is a totally unknown pass. It is not even among the Top 10 highest road passes in the French Alps because it is a pass paved only on the southern slope. A close neighbor of the prestigious climb of the Cime de la Bonette, it offers wild scenery and one of the most beautiful climbs in the Alps. At the pass there is a boundary stone installed in 1823, which until 1861 marked the border between France and Savoy, which belonged to the Kingdom of Sardinia-Piedmont.
