Dubai की नौकरी छोड़ Millets से करोड़ों का बिज़नेस | Pankaj Roy Jharkhand Success Story

Approximately 77 million adults in India suffer from type 2 diabetes, and the associated growing health awareness has made millets a new superfood. Recognizing this shift, Pankaj Roy of Bokaro, Jharkhand, initiated a unique agricultural revolution.
After leaving his job at the Royal Bank of Scotland in Dubai and returning to Ranchi in 2012, Pankaj Roy decided to become an agripreneur. He moved away from traditional farming and chose millets like kodo, kutki, and ragi, not only training farmers but also providing them with quality seeds.
The results of this initiative have been historic—
While there were fewer than 2,000 millet farmers in Jharkhand in 2019, today this number has exceeded 100,000.
The area under ragi cultivation has increased from 3,000 hectares to 50,000 hectares, and the state has generated a turnover of over ₹50 crore so far.
Millet cultivation is extremely water-efficient.
Pankaj Roy has organized 25,000 farmers over the past five years. His company, "Mill Life," buys directly from farmers and markets ready-to-eat products like Millet Desserts, Cookies, and Flakes, with an annual turnover of approximately ₹3.5 crore.

The government is also providing farmers with an incentive of ₹3,000 per acre.

This story isn't just about farming, but about a model of health, prosperity, and sustainable farming.
