It's A Sin To Tell A Lie was written by Billy Mayhew and is a posthumous release on Bill Kenny's second solo album If I Didn't Care from 1979, consisting of re-recordings of his songs with the band (The) Ink Spots. After dissolving the group in 1954, the lead tenor made use of his court-won right to keep releasing music under the band name. Though this record features no other previous band mates except for possibly his twin brother Herb Kenny, it still was titled and catalogued as (The) Ink Spots.
The original lineup of the band had released a recording of this song in 1941. Bill Kenny's first solo album Sings The Golden Hits Of The Ink Spots from 1962 also featured another recording. But it was this most recent one that appears in Fallout New Vegas.
The game version is from a correct transfer. Shellac and vinyl records will not just increase in tempo
when the record player spins too fast, but also in pitch and thus go sharp. Other in-game songs were
affected by this. Pitch is measured in hertz. With 440hz only becoming the standard concert pitch towards the end of the 1940s. The band recorded most of their catalogue in 432hz. But this record's tuning is E in 440hz!
Trunctuated playthrough of the intro, then the first chorus through to the verses and outro. From my note for note transcript in 440hz E tuning.

1962 (solo) version: • Bill Kenny (Mr.Ink Spots) - It's a Sin to ...
