Easy Foaming Sugar Recipe for the Fall

I made another sugar scrub, but it smells more heavenly this time. I’ve been experimenting with different recipes but wanted to return to this tried-and-true one. In my coffee and vanilla sugar scrub video, my batter was SO fluffy; many people may not like that consistency. So, if you aren’t a fan of fluffy batter, this one change can result in a more firm batter. Stay tuned!

Disclaimer: I am researching the effects of temperature on the overall product. Since this is the first time I have not allowed the mixture to cool, I am still determining the immediate or long-term effects. Therefore, I would like everyone to follow this recipe at their own risk.

Ingredients:
Phase I:
🧡16.5 % Distilled water
💛10% Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate (SCI) Noodles

To determine how much is needed:
You have 5 containers, each one is 7.7 oz. Since I work in grams, I’ll convert 7.7 oz to grams, which is 218.29 g.
5 containers x 218.29 g = 1091.45 g total batch.

You’ll take the percentage of each ingredient and multiply it by the total batch amount.

For example, the recipe contains 10% SCI, so 0.10 x 1091.45 g = 109.145 g. Therefore, 109.145 g of SCI noodles will be measured and added.
Another example is that the recipe contains 16.5% distilled water. So, 0.165 X 1091.45 g =180.0893 g of distilled water, and so on. I round to the nearest tenth, turning 180.0893 to 108.09.

Note: I typically add 100 g beyond the total batch to ensure I have enough to fill my containers.
