Color communicates freshness, flavor, and quality. Customer often evaluates foods based on their colors and associate these colors to certain tastes. It is, therefore, important to ensure the color is right and consistent through objective and repeatable measurement methods from raw materials and ingredients, down to the final product.
Over the years, color instruments have been widely used for color control of various foods and beverages such as snacks, dairy products, seasonings, noodles, and fruits. Products that are displayed in large numbers on supermarket shelves are strictly managed using color measurement instruments. These instruments are also used within R&D to improve processing methods.
