Today I spent some time harvesting cherries from the tree before the birds got to them first. It was a peaceful afternoon — just me, the birds, and a basket slowly filling up with ripe cherries.
Back in the kitchen, I made a simple cherry compote and a small batch of cherry syrup. Both are perfect for spooning over yogurt, pancakes, or even just eating by the spoonful.
This video is a slow and simple look at what a quiet summer day looks like for me — picking, cooking, and enjoying the little things.
