RIP 1978-2025 :( Otis Lexan Hydraulic Elevator at the now Former Saks Fifth Avenue in Palm Beach, FL

I figured we'd celebrate today but officially kicking off the South FL uploads, and doing so with some rides on this Very Nice Otis Lexan Elevator, that I literally filmed JUST IN TIME before this store closed for good! Located at a now former Saks Fifth Avenue, despite being in a department store, which are places typically known for HORRIBLE elevator maintenance, this elevator ran like a CHAMP and was kept in PRISTINE Condition up until the very end! The motor sounded really nice, the cab was kept up well and had a nice wooden interior, the Lexan fixtures were in good condition and lit up nice and brightly and it's definitely clear the owners of this store cared about this thing. Unfortunately though, this store closed for good on April 19th, 2025, less than 2 weeks after this video was taken, and rumor has it this store is going to be gutted and redeveloped, and it's safe to say this elevator will almost surely be modernized or replaced. I'm definitely glad I made it here when I did, I know South FL is an area you guys have been BEGGING me to film in for YEARS, and I figured I'd kick this series off with something I've gotten several requests to film that I just BARELY made it to! This elevator is definitely one of the nicest department store elevators I've seen, and the classic leveling just topped this thing off.
