Around 150 world leaders gather in New York City to continue the final day of the general debate in the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) on Monday, September 30. Leaders from the UAE, Syria, Canada, DPRK, Ireland, and Algeria are amongst those set to make an address. The theme for this year’s debate is “Leaving No One Behind: Acting Together for the Advancement of Peace, Sustainable Development, and Human Dignity for Present and Future Generations.” In addition, discussions are expected to focus on pressing global issues, including the conflict in Gaza, the Russia-Ukraine war, and the deepening climate crisis. The general debate for the 79th session of the General Assembly will conclude at the end of the day.
