We finally broke ground on our Ford Transit cargo van camper van conversion project. We worked through laying and installing the insulated floor in our campervan conversion project - showing you how we leveled out the metal ribs in our floor, and what materials we decided to use to lay down our insulation, sub-floor, and vinyl planks. We think the insulated floor should help make van life just a little more comfortable in the Canadian climate. The project took us the better part of 4 days, but it could certainly be achieved in 2 days if need be. We are thrilled with how our floor looks, and it is holding up to the changing temperatures outside incredibly well!
We chose to use 1/2" XPS foam board insulation, 1/2" plywood subfloor and click and lock vinyl plank flooring to build out the foundation of our tiny home on wheels. This is only the first step of a much bigger project, so be sure to subscribe for more van conversion videos... and eventually, some more van life!

We are a couple of full-time travel dreamers who decided to pack up our lives to explore the world - and then 2020 happened. After flying back home, we were not ready to give up our new lifestyle yet, so we bought a minivan, converted it into a DIY minivan camper, and drove across Canada in search of beautiful campsites and stunning mountains to climb. We are currently on a different sort of adventure, converting a Ford Transit cargo van into our new full-time home on wheels in hopes of exploring North America and conquering more mountains - and hopefully even the Arctic Ocean!
