Ep19 The BEST way to see the Dolomites! - Having a crack at Via Ferrata

We have been touring around and exploring the unbelievable Dolomites, and far-out it’s a beautiful place! But there was something I had to do here, and that was to have a go at Via Ferrata! This had been a big ticket item for me to do while on our travels through the mountains, and it finally came time to have a crack.

Via Ferrata is a form of climbing, where you attache yourself to fixed metal cables and fixtures as you ascend near vertical mountains and rocks.
Having had a bit of climbing experience under my belt, I had to give this a go and with the Dolomites so famously known for it’s Via Ferrata routes through the mountains, where better else to try it!

The route that I had chosen to do is called Via Ferrata Strobel - Punta Flames, located just outside the mountain town of Cortina d'Ampezzo. It is marked as an intermediate route that offers adventure as well as a good workout!
