Bald River Falls reopened with a new bridge and observation area 2025

The long awaited opening of the Bald River Falls new bridge and overlook finally took place on May 31st. I finally got a chance today to go and check it out. The new observation area offers awesome views of the falls and there is easy access around one side to the bottom of the falls. You can also walk under the bridge to the other side and get a great view of the river rushing by all the boulders. There were people swimming at the base of the falls as well as up top. I also hiked to the top of the falls which offers more great views!
It's definitely a nice improvement from the road you used to view the falls from. There are even a couple of nice seating areas! So I highly recommend taking the scenic, approximately 6 mile ride along the river, with many areas to stop and pull off and enjoy the views of the river on the way to the main falls! And be sure to bring your bathing suit to cool off!
