A marine biologist debunks the largest great white sharks ever recorded. The average male great white shark is 11-13 feet long. Female great white sharks are even bigger and can reach 15-16 feet. According to renowned ichthyologist, J. E. Randall, the largest great white shark accurately measured and verified was caught off Ledge Point, Australia in March of 1984 and was 19.5 feet in length. The biggest great white shark with fully documented and complete morphometrics was caught off Sète, France on October 13th, 1956. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the longest great white sharks measured 36 to 37 feet long.
