The Transfagarasan ! My Nerves were WRECKED after driving this AMAZING road!

This week we head out in a car onto one of the worlds most famous and in this case scary and dangerous roads, the Transfagarasan Highway !
The Transylvanian road shot to fame in an episode of Top Gear with the original presenters Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond with them commenting
How incredible it was to drive.
Having ridden motorbikes all over the Alps and Pyrenees mountains myself, this road has been logged in my mind for years. It was too far away and too late to
Do it by motorbike, so hire car it was. The hairpin bends are endless, the climb unbelievable, the chance of seeing bears in the wild, high, but on this day
The biggest thing we had to deal with was intense fog or mist, I would go as far as to call it cloud, we were driving in the clouds. At times the visibility
Was down to about 3-5m which was pretty unnerving and even worse inside the tunnel. I think in most countries the tunnel would be closed in these conditions
But not here in Transylvania where anything goes.

We revisited on day 2 to hopefully get some better views and it was in fact a much clearer day, though not perfect, still we had some great views and always
kept our eyes open for the crepuscular characters, bears !

What a great adventure this was and one I would highly recommend if your going on a Romanian or Transylvanian road trip, (which by the way is a brilliant
Idea).
