In this video lesson, we explored the fundamentals of a periodic table, the trends in the properties of the elements as well as the different Chemical bonding that exist between molecules and compounds.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of this video lesson, the learners should be able to:
explain what a periodic table is,
state the modern periodic law,
draw the periodic table for the first twenty elements,
state the names Group I,II,VII & O elements are called,
define the following properties: atomic/ionic radii, electron affinity, electronegativity, and ionization energy,
explain the trends in the properties down the groups and across the periods,
explain chemical bonding,
enumerate and explain the types of chemical bondings we have and
state the characteristics of the different types of chemical bonds.
