Week 2 of a series I'm calling "52 Licks." 1 new jazz phrase each week for 2013.
This is a phrase that I checked out with one of my students while listening to some Dave Brubeck right after his passing. We were watching a YouTube clip of "Take the A Train" and Joe played this little paradiddle diddle phrase as a double-time lick. Its got tons of potential for varying the phrase and it's easy to play at a variety of tempos.
