In this video I’m sharing my experience about the Pouakai Tarns track which offers the most exquisite view of Taranaki mountain under the right weather conditions.
Weather can change quickly, so prepare yourself to spend sometime at the tarn to wait for the perfect condition. It should be low wind and less cloudy.
We started early morning 7am on sunny day in Summer.
Distance - 5.9km each way
Elevation - 790m
Difficulty- Moderate

Track condition in any weather will be excellent due to the broad walk.
Most important - Ideal weather to get the perfect reflection of Taranaki.
