today we’re turning a free shed into a fully functional chicken coop here on our tennessee property.
when we moved onto this land, we didn’t have a coop… just a lot of ideas and a willingness to figure it out as we go. this became our first real project — clearing the space, setting the structure, building out the inside, and creating something practical for real farm life.
most of the materials for this build came from lowe’s — lumber, hardware, fencing, and all the pieces that actually make a project like this possible. we’re building this place the real way, with tools and supplies anyone can walk in and buy.
this is phase one of building our multi-generational family compound from scratch — muddy boots, animals, projects, and a whole lot of heart.
modern self-sufficiency isn’t about how much land you have.
