This is a video of me removing the impellor from a bike water pump.
This pump is from an ST1100 but the same principle is used with other types as the impellor is identical. I clamped the shaft in a vice then used a small gas blowtorch to heat the impellor. This must be done quickly in order to prevent too much heat going into the bearing. For this reason don't use a hot air gun, it is too slow. The impellor must be almost red hot. I used a pair of molegrips, properly adjusted before using the blowtorch. I sell the mechanical seals and some bearings for all bike water pumps. The triumph, honda and kawasaki pumps are so similar they must be made by the same subcontracter although the mechanical seal and bearings may differ.
