In this video, I explore a stock-identification framework where an increase in fixed assets can act as an early signal of future growth. The idea is simple: when companies expand capacity or invest heavily in new assets, it usually reflects management’s conviction in the future. In the short term, such companies may appear “weak” — margins dip due to higher depreciation or interest costs, or they may be stuck in an unfavorable cycle. But for long-term investors, these situations can be an opportunity. You’re essentially looking at future-ready businesses, often available at lower valuations today, with the potential to deliver meaningful returns over the next 3–5 years.

To illustrate, I cover two examples:
a) Craftsman Automation: We explore their journey, the scale of changes in their fixed assets, how the product mix has evolved, and a quick valuation exercise to understand how the stock is currently priced against its growth potential.
b) Greenlam Industries: Another fascinating case where the company has tripled its fixed assets in just two years. We analyze how this expansion has impacted the financials and what it might mean for long-term investors.
