My Spyderco SpydieChef lost its bite after being overpolished — smooth, but no longer slicing aggressively. In this session, I bring back that toothy edge using Sharpal 169H (220/600 grit) and Sharpal 168H (325/1200 grit) diamond stones.
To keep that ideal working bite, I stop at 600 grit, striking a perfect balance between aggression and refinement — ideal for LC200N steel’s corrosion resistance and slicing performance.
For the finish, I use a progressive diamond stropping setup:
• 6 micron diamond paste
• 3 micron diamond on leather
• 0.25 micron StroppyStuff diamond emulsion for the final touch.
