The prevailing signatures today are based on algorithmic complexity, which is essentially a cryptanalytic minefield - vulnerable to weaponized math. Alternatively, we can rely on lavish use of randomness, and resurrect pre-complexity solutions. The forgotten Lamport signature is attracting new interest.
