Steep skiing innovator and Warren Miller film star John Egan explains why he loves Vermont backcountry, how to start skiing there, what it was like to bcski in the 80s and 90s and the groups that work for conservation and ski access. Egan works for Sugarbush which has educational programs about the backcountry. "I've skied from from Montana to Mongolia but Vermont will always be my home" he said in 1995 when I first read about his adventures. I knew he was ideal for the Backcountry Profiles series were we meet local bcskiers in every state during the Skiing States project.
