Welcome to Damascus, Syria! After years of change, Damascus, Syria is alive with culture, history, and some of the best Syrian street food in the Middle East. Walking through the streets, I can feel the resilience and warmth of the Syrian people, who continue to embrace their traditions with pride. This journey takes me to Al-Midan Food Street, one of the most famous food hubs in Damascus, where locals gather to enjoy incredible flavors and centuries-old recipes.

One of the most unique dishes I try here is the famous sheep’s head salad—a Damascus specialty that showcases the resourcefulness and deep culinary traditions of Syria. 🐏🥗 I also dig into flavorful Syrian sausages, including sujuk and makanek, both bursting with spices and grilled to perfection. 🌭🔥

But Syria isn’t just about the savory food—the sweets here are legendary! I indulge in fresh baklava, nammoura, and the chewy, nutty treat called look, each bite reminding me why Syrian desserts are famous worldwide. 🍯🍰

Beyond the food, what truly makes Syria special is its people. From the vendors in Al-Midan who share their passion for food to the families enjoying meals together, there’s a sense of hospitality and warmth that makes this country unforgettable. Despite everything, life in Damascus moves forward, filled with laughter, tradition, and the love for good food.
