Mauser C96, also known as the "Broomhandle" Mauser, "Red 9", or "box cannon", is a semi-automatic pistol that was produced by the German arms manufacturer Mauser from 1896 to 1937. The C96 is known for its long range and deep penetration, and its distinctive wooden grips that inspired its nickname. The pistol's wooden holster also doubles as a detachable shoulder stock.
