Practical driving test route nine begins in Bayton Road Coventry is not the most challenging of the 15 which the DVSA have most recently published. However there are pitfalls around almost each corner the right turn at the roundabout near to the Ricoh Arena being a prime example.

The UK driving test route no.9 for Coventry features Myles who hasn’t driven on many of the road prior to filming. It is clear in the film, he has coped extremely well with the roads and junctions along the driving test route; this is really encouraging in terms of when he eventually takes his driving test. He does intend to pass the driving test first time.

As you can see driving test route 9 takes in the A444 which features in all of the Coventry driving test routes. It is therefore a good idea to ask your Driving Instructor or whoever is helping you with your driving lessons to take you along the A444 so you can become familiar with the road and accustomed to the speeds on this duel carriageway before you even think about when to book the driving test.

Also you may notice some of the road signs are covered by vegetation and some of the road markings are, in my opinion quite late, almost too close to the junctions to allow you to plan ahead satisfactorily, this is a feature of the roads this area, it is to your advantage to get to know all of the driving test routes particularly in light of the recent driving test changes.

My advice is to watch the videos more than once; too get a really good idea of the roads you will be asked to drive on and where any pitfalls may occur. You will notice many of the Coventry driving test routes overlap with each other meaning some of the roads and junctions are included in multiple driving test routes.

All driving test routes are subject to change periodically however they rarely change completely it is more likely they will slightly alter. Also if there happens to be a road block ahead; due to road works or an accident for example; your driving test examiner may alter the test route in order to save time or in the interest of fairness for this reason the video should be seen purely as a guide. This means you are not guaranteed to stick strictly to the route in the video.
