In this video I speak a bit about whether or not the writers intend for us to root for Rhaenyra or not. I know this may seem a moot point to debate, but I don't think it is. It makes a big difference for how we analyze the text whether the writers are aware of Rhaenyra's flaws or not. To a large extend, I think they are - but I also think the writers are too heavily bunkered down in her corner. Rhaenyra is passive, entitled, and uninspiring to those around her - three things that do not make a good leader.
