Horse Training: Catching the Horse that Can't Be Caught

It's challenging and frustrating having a horse that you can't easily catch. Ideally, you want your horse to want to be caught - to come to you when you are at the paddock gate.

In this video, I am working with a horse who is difficult to catch. He is nervous and very sensitive. I need to earn his trust.

UPDATE: Since making this video, I now use positive reinforcement in training. I have added the points where there were opportunities to use positive reinforcement below. Using positive reinforcement would have significantly shortened the time it took for Cruz to trust me.

CORRECTION:
0:30 I would now use positive reinforcement at this point just for him facing me.
