Held annually on New Year’s Eve (Silvester) in Austria’s capital Vienna (Wien). The Wiener Silvesterlauf (New Year’s Eve Run) features a highly scenic 5.35km loop course around Vienna’s Old Town. The race route takes the runners along the imperial Ringstrasse (Ring Road), which is lined with grandiose monuments and buildings.
