Old Nail Gun Tool Restoration | Bostitch N80S

Some background on this tool restoration video.

I love an old nail gun and I really felt like the Bostitch N80 rebuild would make a great tool restoration video to start my own channel with.

When I was younger I always had fond memories of my dad and uncle framing houses.
I was always impressed by the old framing nail guns and how they could be used to build so quickly.
I was curious how they work and how they generate so much force even on 90-100 PSI.
This particular model is a very early version of the Bostitch N80S pneumatic nailer. (The "S" stands for "Stick" because of the stick magazine)

The oldest Bostitch N80 nail gun models tend to have the Aluminum magazine; most common are those with a black magazine.

They also created the N80C shortly after which has a coil cylinder magazine. (It doesn't look as cool in my opinion!)

The N80 can take nails from 2" to 3.5" long of plain, screw and shank nails.The nail gun can also hold between 75-105 nails depending on size.

Bostitch founded in 1896 is famous for their heavy duty framing nailers, brad nailers and finishing nailers.

The company was bought in 1966 by Textron and later sold to Stanley Works and now operates under the name "Stanley Bostitch".

According to Wiki: In the German part of Switzerland, Bostitch became a commonly used deonym (pendant to eponym). The verb "bostitchen" is a synonym for staple and is even used in official documents.
