The Junior League of New Orleans is proud to partner with United Way of Southeast Louisiana’s Women United, the New Orleans (LA), Crescent City (LA), and Pontchartrain (LA) Chapters of The Links, Incorporated, and the National Council of Jewish Women, Greater New Orleans to host the 2025 New Orleans Mayoral Forum with state Senator Royce Duplessis, Councilmember Helena Moreno, and Councilmember Oliver Thomas. The candidates were invited to participate based on their standing in independent poll results, demonstrated fundraising activity, and compliance with campaign finance reporting requirements following the qualifying period. Moderating the panel is WDSU Anchor Gina Swanson.
The forum will focus on issues impacting women and families in our community, including economic mobility, women’s health, maternal care, public safety, civic infrastructure, economic equity, and access to opportunity. These priorities are grounded in the findings of the 2024 Status of Women in New Orleans report, which underscores the urgent need for data-driven solutions to close equity gaps. Questions were developed by the planning committee for this event and have not been provided to the candidates in advance.
