The boy I was talking about has taken admission in NIT because, according to the current guidelines, you can only appear for the JEE Advanced exam twice.
He was just sharing with me that if there had been one more attempt, he would have taken a drop. But I explained to him that NIT is also really good. So what if you didn’t get into IIT? You can still achieve whatever you want through NIT.
Finally, he was happy about getting a seat in Computer Science Engineering at NIT, and now he’s enjoying his time at NIT while focusing on his studies.
Rules :- In the context of IIT-JEE (JEE Main and JEE Advanced), the number of attempts allowed is regulated as follows:
JEE Main :-
Number of Attempts: You can appear for JEE Main six times over a period of three consecutive years.
Attempt Distribution: JEE Main is conducted twice a year (typically in January and April). You can attempt both exams each year, totaling six attempts.
Eligibility :-
You must have passed your Class 12th (or equivalent) examination in the current year or the previous year.
There is no age limit; however, you must meet the specific age requirements of the institute you're applying to.
JEE Advanced :-
Number of Attempts: You can attempt JEE Advanced a maximum of two times over two consecutive years.
Eligibility :-
You need to qualify for JEE Main and rank among the top candidates (based on the cutoff for JEE Advanced eligibility).
You must not have been admitted to an IIT before (even if you have accepted admission but didn't join, you may not be eligible).
In this video i am talking about the journey of taking third drop for IIT , JEE Mains, JEE Advance.
