In this episode of our new series based on G20 Leaders Summit, we will explore the geography, history, political system, economy, the current government of South Africa.

South Africa is a country located at the southern tip of Africa. It is a land of great diversity, with a rich history and culture. The first Europeans to arrive were the Portuguese in the 15th century. The Dutch followed in the 17th century and established the Cape Colony. The British arrived in the 19th century and eventually gained control of the entire country.

South Africa's history is also marked by the system of apartheid, which was a policy of racial segregation that lasted from 1948 to 1994. Apartheid was a brutal and oppressive system that denied black South Africans basic human rights. It was finally dismantled in 1994, after years of struggle by the anti-apartheid movement.

Today, South Africa is a democratic republic. The head of state is the President, who is elected by popular vote. The head of government is the Prime Minister, who is appointed by the President. The parliament is bicameral, consisting of the National Assembly and the National Council of Provinces.

South Africa's economy is a mixed economy, with a large private sector and a significant role for government. The country is a major exporter of minerals, such as diamonds, gold, and platinum. It is also a major producer of agricultural products, such as corn, wheat, and sugar.
