We turned empty soda cans into a weather-resistant roof for our off-grid water pump shelter—completely DIY and basically free!
In this video, Naomi shows how she cut, shaped, and installed aluminum can tiles using everyday tools like scissors, a staple gun, and a sharp ruler edge.
We’re slowly building our off-grid home in the Arizona desert using handmade interlocking compressed earth blocks. Along the way, we try to use recycled and repurposed materials whenever we can.
This recycled roof adds personality, protects against the elements, and saves materials from the landfill.
