This smart bike carrier is a pleasure to use and takes up to 4 bikes (with the 4th bike adapter listed below). It's easy to lift it onto the tow ball and then push down the single lever to lock it into place. Minimal adjustment may be required first time out to get a firm grip on the tow ball.

Tilting is an easy one person operation using a foot pedal positioned at the front of the carrier.

The VeloCompact should fit all tow balls. To fit this carrier you need a clear 65mm between the centre of the tow ball and the bumper. Please check this measurement before ordering.

It makes sense when using this carrier to place a safety strap around all the bikes and the bike holder support frame. Why? The bike holders sometimes only grip around the top (or bottom) and sides of the bike frame, especially on irregular shaped frames, so there's the potential for the bike holder to jump off or fall off the frame, e.g when travelling over bumpy roads or speed bumps. We're therefore providing a free strap with each carrier - one strap per carrier! As well as providing peace of mind the strap will also help to minimise vibration.

Comes with a carrier to tow bar and bike to carrier lock.

The bike holders are locked to the support frame in an ingenious way, and can be removed when unlocked (when you come to fit the bikes you're expected to move these bike holders around the frame, and it may take several attempts before you have the optimum scheme for loading your particular bikes).

Includes Thule's AcuTight tightening knob that spins when tight enough.

It's easy to secure the wheels using long wheel straps and pump buckles.

Dimensions: Side to side = 103cm, Front to back = 72cm
Weight = 18.9kg (21.7kg with the 4th bike adapter)

Load capacity 60kg (max 25kg per bike, but most bikes are nearer 15kg).

Use adapter 9261 (listed below) to carry a 4th bike.

Use adapter 9241 if you have a rear mounted spare wheel; this will take up one bike space, i.e. you can carry 3 bikes with adapters 9261 and 9241.

The 927 is supplied almost fully assembled.

Please note that if you have a 7 pin electric socket the reversing light and fog light will not work - the 7 pin socket isn't wired for these functions. You'd need to install a 13 pin system, but this is hardly worth it, especially as fog lights tend to be higher up the light cluster than they used to be.
