1952 Felber Autoroller 🐸 was Austria’s first postwar car — a 15hp, three-wheeled convertible that looked like a frog and roared like a chainsaw. Built from scrap-era ambition and sidecar leftovers, it offered postwar Austrians the dream of motoring for the price of a radio.
Designed by Ernst Marold and produced by A. Felber & Co., this microcar squeezed two adults, one child, and zero logic into a single door, rear-engined oddball with lawnmower vibes and lime-green charm. 💚
In this episode, we break down how Vienna's tiniest vehicle tried to outdrive poverty, potholes, and practicality — and why only 400 of them ever croaked off the line.
